Privacy Policy

RepTally has no servers of our own, no accounts, no ads, and no ad tracking. Your workouts, profile, and Health data stay on your device, and we never sell your data. We use one analytics service to learn which features get used — anonymously, and you can switch it off.
Data We Collect
RepTally has no backend and no user accounts, and contains no advertising or ad-attribution services. We never ask for your email address, never collect your location, and never transmit your workout history, notes, or Health data. The only data that leaves your device is the anonymous usage statistics described under Anonymous Usage Statistics, which you can turn off at any time.
Data Stored on Your Device
RepTally stores the following data locally on your iPhone:
- Profile details you enter, such as age range, sex (optional), fitness level, goals, injuries or sensitive areas, and equipment access
- Workout history and rep logs
- Personal records and streaks
- Your exercise preferences and session templates
- App settings (goal, location preference, rest times)
This data stays on your device unless you use iOS system features such as iCloud backup or device transfer. The only exceptions are your fitness level, primary goal, location preference, and weekly target, which are included in anonymous usage statistics while those are switched on.
Apple Health
With your permission, RepTally can both read from and write to the Apple Health app (HealthKit):
- It reads heart rate, active energy, and body weight to calculate and display your workout stats.
- It writes completed workouts and active energy back to Health so your sessions appear alongside your other activity.
This integration is optional — RepTally works fully without granting Health access. All Health data is processed on your device to power these features and is never transmitted off your device or shared with any third party. Apple's own privacy policy governs how Health data itself is stored and synced.
Camera
If you choose the selfie option on a workout recap card, RepTally uses the camera only to capture a photo for that card. We do not keep a photo library, upload the image, or use the camera for anything else. Sharing the card uses the system share sheet, which you control.
In-App Purchases
RepTally Pro is available as a subscription or one-time purchase through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. RepTally does not receive, store, or process any payment or billing information.
Anonymous Usage Statistics
RepTally uses Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand which features are used and where people get stuck, so we know what to improve. It is on by default. You can turn it off at any time in Settings → Data & Privacy → Share Anonymous Usage Data. Turning it off stops collection and deletes the analytics identifier on your device.
When it is on, the app sends:
- Events describing how the app is used, such as onboarding steps, workouts started and completed, features opened, and paywall and purchase steps
- Coarse details attached to those events: which built-in exercise you chose, target reps, sets and rest times, whether reps were counted by the timer or by a tap or volume button, and counts rounded into ranges rather than exact numbers
- A few settings and profile choices: fitness level, primary goal, workout location preference, weekly target, whether reminders, Apple Health, or the Daily Challenge are switched on, and whether you have Pro
- A random identifier created by Firebase for this installation, plus basic device information such as device model, iOS version, app version, and country
It never includes your name, age range, sex, injuries, pregnancy status, body weight, heart rate or any Apple Health data, workout notes, reflections, custom exercise names, or photos. RepTally does not set a user ID. The analytics identifier is not linked to your identity or used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
Third-Party Services
Apart from Firebase Analytics, described above, RepTally does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services.
Children's Privacy
You must be at least 13 years old to use RepTally. The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under that age. Users aged 13–17 should use the app with parental or guardian supervision.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how data is handled, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
